Shoshanna's aspect on success
August 2018
Ever heard the term“success is screwing people over”? Well… I believe that we have got the saying all wrong. In fact, success isn’t screwing others over its not caring about what others are doing. Focusing on what others are doing distracts you from reaching your own goals, don’t you think? Let me tell you a story.
G’day, I’m Shoshanna, Marketing Consultant and Software Consultant here at BeyondeBiz. Today I turn 24, almost hitting my mid 20s, and I feel better than ever. People tend to never talk age, gives then a hit of reality, we start asking ourselves, what did we achieve in the previous year, is it too late, am I to old? But the best thing is every year we learn something new. Something that makes us wiser, more intellectual about our next move. As for me I’m grateful for what I have, awesome family and friends, the perfect job and I hope the goods keep coming. Of course there obstacles along the way, but the best way to life is to turn that obstacle into a positive, use it to better yourself, whether it’s at home, out and about or even at work.
Working for BeyondeBiz is awesome, one reason is because I grew up in the in the software industry. So, learning what others would learn at uni came natural to me. But learning software and business wasn’t the only thing that helped me with become great at what I do, majority came for my personal life. You see people love you and they will be there for you, but no one can be more helpful to you than yourself. I kinda learnt this the hard way, you see I’m a very caring person, and I was taught if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything? Haha, no… it wasn’t that I didn’t have anything nice say it was because I didn’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings. This didn’t turn out so well. Turns out if you’re too nice, you look naive and people will walk all over you.
You notice the problem yet? I cared too much about other people feelings, I’d always put them first, made sure they were happy. By the end of it I was left with no one, Nice guys or girls in this case always finish last. So, what did I do, to end in such a happy position?
Well you best believe I put my happiness first, set out my goals and how I was going to achieve them. Now this did make some people unhappy, people didn’t like this new me. But this new me has a voice, this new me loves to talk… to much sometimes (I’m working on that), I can be a bit of a clown. Now I’m still nice, still caring, and still that smiling girl with the flower in her hair.
This girl is shining brighter than ever! My personal goals have reflected my work goals and I look forward to coming to work each day and setting an example of a happier life to all my co-workers and my clients. Allowing not just me to be successful but also everyone around.
Life’s good, Life’s great… In fact Life is Awesommeee!!
